Here is another site, free downloads of arabic music (dont even need to download the site has a player), its about listening the rhythm of the song, its all about rhythm. Last edited by Assad on Sat 3:32 pm edited 2 times in total (as soon as i posted this i found some sheet music for the oud so yeah i guess its a little experimenting now.)Īlso i would like to bring this guy to your attentionĬheb khaled does french-arabic pop and does a nice western instrument intergration with something with a little arabic feel, but im looking for something a little more traditional. So the next thing on my list is sheet music for the oud >.> where the hell im gonna find that, im not sure but if i find some ill post it straight away.
#MELODY4ARAB CHEB KHALED HOW TO#
so ive found a programme which can turn notes into tabs (im not sure how to do it yet but thats what it says on the label so its worth posting) The 5-string Oud fits in well, although u might have to change the tuning on your bass. Last edited by Assad on Sat 3:31 pm edited 2 times in totalīasically i was looking for a popular arabic instrument, find the sheet music, transfer it to tabs for the bass. Is there any sites where i could easily like maqam's for the oud BUT transfer or at least attempt to transfer them on to my bass. So i guess i should rephrase the question. I guess really at the end of the day, im trying to emulate something close to the kinda stuff u would find being played on an oud or the buzuq I dont think i could be shredding out arabic bass solos and stuff but something a little more simple Something more like the tune in this, something someone could sing to. (i kno these arent traditional, more pop but yeah, just the style of sound if u get what i mean)

With a stellar career, garnering ten diamond, platinum, and gold LPs, Cheb Khaled is a huge African star and the biggest artist in most Arabic countries. This is a good example of like slightly more medolic arabic bass, but im trying to go for something more rythmic, something for vocals, and sorta fusion of rock bass line and arabic music. By the 80s, Khaled turned his hand to producing and started experimenting with Raï music – a genre for which he is most known today. His musical career began with the formation of his band, Cinq Étoiles and together they played nightclubs and weddings in Khaled’s hometown. The album itself sold 1m copies in the first couple of months and went on to sell almost 5m copies across the globe.Ī true industry veteran, Cheb Khaled started singing at the age of 14. Just two years later, Khaled’s other big track, ‘C’est La Vie’ reached a record million downloads on European and Canadian iTunes and got to No. In 2010, Cheb Khaled was given the opportunity to perform ‘Didi’ at the 2010 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony. As testament to the track’s likeability, it has featured in Bollywood and Mollywood films alike. It topped the music charts in France, Belgium, Spain, Pakistan and India. The 1993 hit, ‘Didi’ was massive in Europe, as well as many other continents across the globe.

Boasting sales of over 80.5 million albums internationally, Khaled’s most recognised singles are ‘Didi’ and ‘C’est la vie’. Cheb Khaled, otherwise known as the “King of Raï”, is quite possibly the most famous Algerian singer on the planet.
